School is back in session at Greendale Community College — but attendance is up in the air.
On September 30, Peacock was announced Communitywhich ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015, will officially return for the long-rumored movie, finally fulfilling the show’s “six seasons and a movie” prediction.
The streamer announced that the original cast members Joel McHale, Danny Puddy, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Ross and Ken Jeong All will reprise their roles from the beloved series.
While the movie has become a welcome news Community Fans, they couldn’t help but wonder: Wait, what about Yvette Nicole Brown? The actress, who plays sweet and sometimes stubborn Shirley on the show, was notably absent from Peacock’s press release.
Well, when E! News had an exclusive chat with Yovette on September 27, just days before the movie was announced, and she seems optimistic about what lies ahead.
“I am 100 percent positive and hopeful that there will be one Community movie,” Yvette said. “I could say the same thing today when we were shooting rap years ago. It was never an issue of desire. This has always been a scheduling problem. I know that conversation is happening.”
