New Delhi: The Indian Navy motorbike team, ‘The Sea Riders’, in partnership with Royal Enfield, is conducting a motorcycle drive across seven northeastern states from November 25 to December 14, the Ministry of Defense said in a press statement on Friday. said .

The expedition was flagged off by Chief of Naval Staff Adam R Hari Kumar as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. “Fifteen seafarers set out on Royal Enfield Meteor 350 cc bikes to cover a total distance of 3500 km across seven states of North India over a period of 24 days,” the ministry added.

The campaign is being carried out in two phases across seven states with each phase covering some of the toughest areas of North East India.

“Riders will pass along the Indo-Bangladesh border, past the historic Unakoti sculptures, Qibul Lamjao National Park, the world’s only floating national park and witness the famous Hornbill festival. The expedition will pass through the capital cities of Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Imphal, Kohima and pass through the high altitude Sela and Bumla passes,” the ministry said.

During this campaign, under the leadership of Captain Sumeet Puri, sailors will interact with students in various schools and make them aware about the Indian Navy. “This unique partnership aims to inspire youth to join the armed forces and will conclude on December 15 in Guwahati,” the ministry added.

Over the years, Royal Enfield has played a significant role in the journey of the Indian Armed Forces and this campaign will be another step towards further strengthening the association.
