The 16 Best Black Friday Mattress Deals (2022): Bedding, Pillows, Blankets | Jobi Cool

sleep is essential but it is not always easy. Some people can sleep on wooden planks and some of us need the perfect mattress, the crispest sheets perfectly fitted and a nice sound machine blaring nearby. Luckily, there are Black Friday deals on all of these items. The prices included here for mattresses are for the queen-size version.

WIRED’s Black Friday coverage

We test products all year round and chose these offers. Products that are sold out or no longer discounted at the time of release will be crossed out. We’ll be updating this guide throughout Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend.

If you make a purchase using links in our stories, we may receive a commission. This helps support our journalism. Learn more.

Mattress offer

When it comes to mattresses, the rule to live by is never pay full price. No matter the time of year, there’s always a sale coming up. List prices are set artificially high so that offers appear extravagant, but they are not. We’ve handpicked the best deals below, but our Best Mattresses guide has more options and detailed explanations of hybrid vs. all-foam.

Helix Midnight Luxe Hybrid mattress

This is our favorite mattress and it’s the one you should get if money is no object. This is the same price as the Memorial Day sale and $50 more than last Black Friday (the base price has increased). Living up to its Luxe name, it’s soft and cushioning on top, yet has a medium firm feel that’s great for all sleeping positions. The discount amount depends on the size you choose. Click the view offer button at the top of the website to see exactly how much and which code you need to use at checkout. Each mattress order comes with two pillows.

Don’t want to spend quite as much money as Helix? Casper is an all-around great choice if you’re not sure which mattress to buy. It’s what our reviewer called “as close to default as beds come.” You get soft support, better breathability and edge support than on any foam mattress.

Tuft & Needle Mint mattress

This mattress is ideal if you need pressure relief to sleep better at night. You will sink into the top layer of adaptive foam, it feels supportive. There is a green ceramic gel foam to distribute heat, and it manages to keep its shape, so it will not be anthropomorphic contours the next night.

Does the thought of spending over a grand on a bed keep you up at night? Well, that’s a solid deal. The Nectar mattress is a good choice for side sleepers. Its cost price is $999 but we usually see it drop to $799, so this is indeed a real discount. It’s an all foam mattress, not a hybrid, but it’s just cushy enough – it sinks in but doesn’t swallow you. If you want to add two pillows, sheets and a mattress protector, you’ll need to add the extras offered for $99.

Stereo offer

You can find more recommendations in our Best Audio Engines guide.

Hatch Restore Sound Machine

Click the coupon button on the page to see the discount at checkout. If you want an audio engine and a sunrise alarm (plus a digital clock!), the Hatch hits the mark here. Using the app, you can program your basic morning and evening routines and choose your alarm clock and sleep sounds. It’s still expensive even with this discount. By subscribing to a Hatch Sleep membership, you get a curated library of sounds, stories, and meditations, but it’s not required.

Click the coupon button on the page to see the discount at checkout. This version of Hatch is intended for children, but anyone can use it. It has special features for children, ie. time-to rest and time to rise light. It’s good for people who wake up early so they don’t bother their parents on the one and only day of sleeping in, but it could also be useful for adults who need a reminder to put the phone down and take a second to get into sleep mode . Using the app, you can customize colors and ring through sounds. The second generation version uses Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth.

Morphée Sleep Meditation Box

I really like the Morphée products. They are carefully made and screenless. You can get a basic audio machine for less, but this one adds meditation as well. You can go from crackling fireplace sounds to meditation sessions designed to help you fall into a deep sleep. The downside is that you can only choose between playing for 8 or 20 minutes; I wanted it to play sounds continuously.

Get this one for kids. Not only is it cute, but the meditations also take kids on a journey with an animal companion. I gave one to her friend’s friend who loves her, listening while she went from room to room. It has the same time limits as the adult version.

Due to the blanket offer

Our guide to the best weight blankets breaks down weights and sizes and has more choices.

Yaasa weight blanket

Because Yaasa blankets are expensive and rarely discounted, it’s our favorite if you want a stiff, heavy blanket. The open knit design is beautiful and allows air to flow if you are a hot sleeper like me. It’s so much heavier than other options too (this is a good thing!). You can get it in 15 or 20 pound sizes.

Gravity might be the most well-known weighted blanket company, and this blanket is the first affordable version. It left nothing to be desired – I loved sleeping with it on. It’s 15 pounds and the perfect size for one person to enjoy without annoying their partner. It is machine washable, but there are several cover options as well. If you buy the blanket from Amazon, there is an additional 10 percent discount on the site.

Brooklinen weighted throw blanket

You can get a great rug for less with the Gravity option above, but Brooklinen’s is beautiful, especially in the terracotta and dark green colors. It’s a nice 12 pounds, with a satisfactory side texture and a smooth cotton side.

The discount is automatically applied at checkout. The Baloo’s throw is slightly smaller than the Brooklinen, so it might be better for solo sleepers (or if your partner doesn’t like heavy blankets). It’s a crisp trendy cotton and there are linen duvets in some really nice colours. The rug can be machine washed and tumble dried as well.

Buffy Wiggle pillow

Photo: Buffy

Body pillows are usually your length or slightly shorter. With this Wiggle pillow, I can wrap him around me, curl up between him with my head on top. I sleep so well squeezing this. The brand also makes fuzzy covers, but they are currently sold out. The cover makes it feel like a teddy bear but I feel cooler without it.

WIRED reviewer Haley Sprankle has been testing bed sheets, and these satins from Brooklinen are top of the line. She says they have a buttery soft feel but don’t get hot at night. They also come in beautiful, muted colors and even some patterns like a magical kaleidoscope.

Photo: Blissy

The silk mask from Blissy is cooling and comfortable and blocks out all light so I can sleep in it. It also comes in 38 (!!) colors and patterns. I alternate between this and the Nodpods heavy sleep mask.

WIRED Reviews Editor Julian Chokkattu likes Parachute’s crisp percale sheets, but the brand’s linen, satin and cotton options are also on sale. They don’t come in a set, though, so you’ll have to buy the $64 ($16 off) top sheet and $72 ($18 off) liner separately—there are $63 ($16 off) shams if you need them. If you don’t sleep with a topper, this might be a plus for you.
