Who doesn’t love a satisfying ending to a movie? Cliffhangers, a final twist, or leaving it ambiguous are all fine, but there’s something when a movie ties up all the loose ends that’s so rewarding. That doesn’t mean it’s a “happy” ending, but it does bring the whole story full circle.

It can be difficult to pull off, but when done right, a great ending can really elevate the entire movie. While it’s sad to see these iconic characters go, their send-off couldn’t have been more perfect.

In the end, that’s exactly what happens. Will is able to forgive himself and finally pursue what he wants in life. It’s a touching moment that’s totally earned and brings the movie full circle. Like Chucky, the audience can’t help but smile and be happy for Will.

8/10 Django goes out with a bang

Jango rescues his wife and destroys the plantation with a stick of dynamite before they ride off together. The film literally goes out with a bang.

7/10 Blisters never looked so good

Whiplash Follows Andrew Nieman, a young obsessive drummer, and his psychological warfare with his abusive music instructor, Terence Fletcher, who believes that pushing his students to their absolute limits is the only way for them to excel. It’s a movie that puts its audience through a lot of stress, but this one;; Worth it in the last moments.

After Fletcher sabotages Andrew at the final concert, he leaves the stage humiliated, returning moments later to deliver an epic drum solo. Andrew takes control and proves he has what it takes, winning Fletcher’s approval. It’s not a warm and fuzzy ending, but the moment is fully earned and very satisfying to watch.

6/10 Rocky Goes the Distance

5/10 TSA saves the day

Chris is able to escape but is stopped by a squad car with flashing lights. He’s afraid it’s the police because they’ve already racially profiled him and probably don’t believe him. But it appears that his friend, and TSA agent Rod, is there to save him. The audience can’t help but applaud.

4/10 Truman cancels his show

What do you do when you realize your whole life has been a long lie for the entertainment of others? This is the question at the end of the 1998 psychological satire. The Truman Show. Truman, played by Jim Carrey, is a man who is unwittingly the star of a TV show; He lives in an artificial city and everyone he knows is an actor.

In the end, Truman learns the truth and tries to escape, but not before his “creator” Kristoff tries to convince him to stay. Although initially hesitant, Truman rejects Kristoff and the only life he knows. He delivers his catchphrase, takes a bow, and heads out into the real world. It’s a cathartic and well-deserved happy ending.

Shashank Mukti Over the course of twenty years, Andy faces many hardships and beatings, but it is revealed in the end that Andy spent those years digging a tunnel to freedom. The cherry on top comes when Red reunites with Andy on the Mexican beach he told her about earlier in the movie. It’s a perfect ending to a perfect film.
