Ranchi gets major stake in state team for U-15, 17 National Badminton Championships | Jobi Cool

Dhanbad, Nov 14: Players from Ranchi have a major share in the state boys and girls teams announced for the Junior National Badminton Championship to be held in Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) from December 25 to 30.

Announcing the squad, Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) secretary K Prabhakar Rao said the players were selected on the basis of their performance in the Jharkhand Junior Badminton Championship (under-15 and under-17) that concluded on Sunday evening at Dhanbad.

The winner and runner-up in each event and the boys’ and girls’ doubles winners were selected for the team that will represent the state at the national championships.

Secretary Rao congratulated the players for being selected in the state team and praised the management of Dhanbad Badminton Association for organizing the state championship successfully. He expressed hope that the Jharkhand team will perform to the best of its ability in the national championship.

The selected players are:

  • U-15 boys singles – Sujal Rakshit (Dhanbad), Ashu Gopal (Ranchi),
  • U-15 Boys’ Doubles – Krish Dubey, Suraj Pratap Singh (Jamshedpur)
  • Girls Under 15 Singles – Ananya Singh (Ranchi), Pihu Singh (Dhanbad)
  • Under-15 Girls’ Doubles – Anishka Tyagi, Vaibhavi Srivastava (Jamshedpur)
  • U-17 Boys Singles – Neeraj Keshri (Ranchi), Rupesh Raj (Jamshedpur)
  • U-17 Boys Doubles – Raunak Negi, Rupesh Raj (Jamshedpur)
  • Girls Under 17 Singles – Aadhya Singh (Saraikela), Ananya Singh (Ranchi)
  • U-15 Girls Doubles – Aadhya Singh, Sara Sharma (Saraikela/Jamshedpur)
