Jewar airport: Farmers seek better deals- The New Indian Express | Jobi Cool

LUCKNOW: Farmers demanding better compensation and rehabilitation package protested against the proposed Jewar airport in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. While about 80 percent of farmers are said to have given their approval for land acquisition for the second phase of construction of the proposed airport in Noida, some farmers earmarked for the project staged protests against the UP government demanding better compensation and rehabilitation at a site of their choice.

According to sources, two groups of farmers took part in the riot. In the first group were those who have already acquired land and work on the runway has started there. Another group of farmers, who are yet to acquire land, staged a protest at the office of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
