Celebrating the 80th birthday of the great actor Amitabh BachchanPVR Theaters will screen some of his classics in 22 cinemas across 17 cities, it has been announced. Film Heritage Foundation (FHF).

Blockbuster Festival – Bachchan Back to Beginning – 11 films will be released in theaters for Indian audiences from October 8-11. PVR has also rolled out a movie pass for all Big B fans to enjoy and love all the movies on the silver screen.

However, the list does not include one of the most loved films, which had a significant impact on the audience in the good old days of 1975, Sholay. In response to the official announcement made by the FHF, netizens took to Twitter to show their dismay.

In the era before satellite television, it was common to re-release old movies in theaters. But with more movie channels, their appeal waned. However, some movie buffs who enjoyed the big screen impact were missing them.

Here are all the Big B movies that will hit the silver screen again –

Amitabh Bachchan was a part of this critically acclaimed film along with Shatrughan Sinha and Shashi Kapoor. The movie was based on the tragic incident in Chasnala mine where more than 300 miners died due to flood in the mine. Bachchan plays a merchant navy captain who becomes a miner to forget his tragic past.

2. Kalia

Written and directed by Tinu Anand, the film is another memorable film from Bachchan’s Angry-Young-Man era. It is the story of a happy-go-lucky young man who is drawn into the world of crime after a life-changing event.

Where did we come from?, the triangular love story was a casting coup pulled off by producer-director Yash Chopra. While the lead actor Bachchan and Rekha are rumored to be real-life lovers, the film also features his wife Jaya Bachchan.

Bachchan plays the second brother in this divided brother story that also stars Rishi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Parveen Babi, Shabana Azmi and Neetu Singh. Khanna plays a police officer, Bachchan a petty thief and Rishi Kapoor a musician.
