Bhubaneswar. Odisha’s eleven-year-old Tanvi Patri won the girls’ singles title at the 34th Under-13 National Badminton Championship in Lucknow on Wednesday.

He won a prize money of Rs.60,000.

Tanvi, who now trains at Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA), Bengaluru, defeated Divyanshi Gautam 21-7, 21-10 in just 22 minutes.

“I just kept hitting the shuttle in the right spot and didn’t bother my opponent too much. “Once I took the lead in the second game, I was sure I was winning because I had a five-point lead at halftime,” Tanvi was quoted as saying by HT.

Notably, this is his second win after the Under-13 national ranking tournament in Maharashtra where he won his maiden title earlier this month.

Tanvi also spent several years in China and trained under Chinese trainer Jiang Yong Yi when her father Rabinarayan Patri worked there as a software specialist.
